The issues stem from signal power problems affecting tracks in and out of New York Penn Station, resulting in single-tracking and substantial delays.
Further complicating matters are crew shortages resulting from the previous day's cancellations. Amtrak has issued a service advisory stating that the situation is ongoing and that updates will be provided as they become available. Several trains have been canceled.
