Florida Man's Alleged NYSE Bomb Plot
A 30-year-old Florida man, Harun Abdul-Malik Yener, has been arrested and charged with attempting to bomb the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) before Thanksgiving. The FBI's investigation, initiated by a tip about bomb-making schematics stored in his unlocked storage unit, uncovered bomb-making materials and internet searches dating back to 2017.
Yener allegedly met with undercover FBI agents, expressing his desire to join an anti-government militia and construct an explosive device. He detailed plans to target the NYSE, aiming for a "reboot" of the US government. He even constructed a remote trigger and researched the NYSE's layout. He allegedly planned to wear a disguise and plant the bomb outside the building, expecting an explosion like a "small nuke."
