The Crime

Ray Hodges, a 36-year-old USPS letter carrier, was stabbed in the stomach during a lunch break at a deli on Lenox Avenue. He was rushed to Harlem Hospital but died from his injuries.

Witnesses say Hodges skipped the line directly in front of Cruz, leading to a confrontation that ended with the fatal stabbing.

The Suspect's History

Cruz has been arrested at least five times previously, including an incident where she waved a box cutter, shouting threats to "cut" someone. Two weeks later, she was involved in a tag-team robbery where knives were used to steal a victim's phone and wallet.
