Macaulay Culkin Sells His Iconic NYC Loft
Macaulay Culkin, the former child star of Home Alone, has sold his long-held Manhattan loft for $7.75 million. The NoHo property, purchased in 1999 for $1.75 million (approximately $3.36 million adjusted for inflation), was sold off-market, leaving many details undisclosed.
A Storied Building
The building itself boasts a rich history. Originally home to the Socialist Workers’ Party, it was converted into residential lofts in the 1970s. Culkin's spacious three-bedroom, two-bathroom condo spanned over 4,800 square feet, featuring an expansive L-shaped living area incorporating the kitchen, dining, and living rooms.
From 'Home Alone' to Paris
Culkin purchased the loft shortly after marrying actress Rachel Miner. Though they divorced years later, he kept the loft for over two decades. In a 2016 interview with New York Magazine, he showcased his art collection in the loft, highlighting his long-standing connection to the space. He's since relocated to Paris with his wife, Brenda Song, and their children, stating a preference for the City of Light and its anonymity.
The End of an Era
The sale marks the end of a chapter for Culkin and a significant transaction in the New York City real estate market. Its prime location near Washington Square Park and the industrial-chic charm likely added to its desirability.
