Upstate New York Braces for Historic Lake-Effect Snowstorm
A major lake-effect snowstorm is hitting Upstate New York, with some areas expecting up to five feet of snow this weekend. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued warnings for several counties, predicting significant snowfall through Monday.

- Western Chautauqua & Southern Erie Counties, Southeastern & Southwestern St. Lawrence: 3 to 4 feet

The NWS warns of dangerous travel conditions and extremely poor visibility. Travel may be impossible in some areas. The warnings are in effect from Friday morning to Monday evening.
Beyond New York:
This isn't just a New York issue; a significant winter storm is impacting much of the country. Nine Southern states are under freeze warnings, and multiple Western states have winter weather warnings. Even parts of Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania are experiencing lake-effect snow.
