Massive NYC "Hands Off!" Protest
On April 5th, New York City saw large-scale demonstrations as part of nationwide "Hands Off!" protests against President Donald Trump's policies. Hundreds of thousands participated across the country.
NYC Protests
Despite the rain, hundreds of protesters rallied in New York City, with a significant gathering in Bryant Park before marching downtown. The protests, planned for locations including Mamaroneck, Mount Kisco, Hastings-on-Hudson, Nanuet, Stony Point, and multiple NYC locations, were among the largest seen since the start of Trump's second term.
Protester Voices
One New Yorker, Phyllis Collins, interviewed by Reuters, highlighted the protesters' determination to fight for their rights, expressing concern about what she described as Trump's actions. Collins stated,"If we don't do anything its a show of ignorance... [Trump] is completely out of control. To see this country melt down in such a quick and nauseating way, its just crazy. When I look at these folks you know what I feel? Emotional."
