What's a Total Lunar Eclipse?

A total lunar eclipse occurs when the sun, Earth, and moon perfectly align, casting Earth's shadow on the moon. This shadow gives the moon its eerie red-orange glow, hence the nickname "Blood Moon". March's full moon is also known as the "Worm Moon", a harbinger of spring.
