Polar Vortex Brings Extreme Cold
This snowy weather follows a polar vortex, which is bringing a blast of extreme cold to the region. Temperatures are expected to plummet, making this the coldest period of the season so far. This frigid air mass is predicted to linger for several weeks, potentially lasting until the end of January. This could be the East Coast's first colder-than-average January since 2022, and possibly the coldest since 2014 or 2011.
