NYC Subway Safety Gets a Major Upgrade in 2025
Governor Kathy Hochul announced a comprehensive plan to enhance safety across New York City's subway system. Key improvements include:
Increased Police Presence

Infrastructure Improvements

Addressing the Root Causes
Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch emphasized the need to address "surging recidivism" to break the cycle of crime. Hochul supports changes to discovery laws to help keep repeat offenders incarcerated.
