Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch stated that the 32-year-old driver, Miriam Yarimi, first collided with a Toyota Camry before striking the family in the crosswalk. Yarimi's Audi subsequently overturned. The 35-year-old mother and her two daughters, ages 6 and 8, were killed. The family's 4-year-old son is in critical condition.
