# Trump's Sentencing Delayed in NYC Hush Money Case

**A bombshell development** has emerged in the ongoing hush money case against former President Donald Trump.  Judge Juan Merchan has **stayed the sentencing**, originally scheduled for November 26th, indefinitely.  This decision comes after Trump's lawyers filed a motion to dismiss the case, arguing that continuing the proceedings would interfere with his presidential duties.

The judge has set a deadline of December 2nd for the defense's motion to dismiss, with the prosecution having until December 9th to respond. This delay leaves the fate of Trump's conviction, for 34 counts of falsifying business records, hanging in the balance.  

While the Manhattan District Attorney's office opposes dismissing the case, they acknowledged the complexities of balancing the demands of the presidency with the importance of the jury's verdict.  

**Trump's legal team** argues the case should be dropped because the voters' decision to return him to office supersedes the actions of the District Attorney. They warn that lengthy appeals would overlap with Trump's second term.

A dismissal would overturn Trump's conviction, a first for a former U.S. president.  If the conviction stands, he could face a fine, probation, or up to four years in prison.

# NYC Stabbing Spree: 3 Dead, Suspect in Court

**A 51-year-old man, Ramon Rivera, is facing three counts of first-degree murder after a shocking stabbing rampage in New York City.**  The attacks, spanning two and a half hours, claimed the lives of three individuals:

* **Angel Gustavo Lata**, 36, a construction worker in Chelsea.
* **Chang Wong**, 67, who was fishing in the East River.
* **Wilma Augustin**, 36, who was sitting on a park bench in Manhattan.

## Alleged Stabber's Criminal History

Prosecutors revealed that Rivera, who is homeless, has a lengthy criminal record. He was recently released from prison in October after serving time for burglary and assault on a correction officer.  He also had an open shoplifting case.

Rivera is being held without bail.  A police source reported that during questioning, Rivera stated he didn't target victims based on race, age, or gender, but chose them because they appeared alone and distracted.

# NYC's First Snowfall: A Tri-State Surprise!

While much of the New York City metro area experienced heavy rainfall exceeding an inch since Wednesday night, higher elevations north and west of the city woke up to the season's first accumulating snow.  Snow accumulation varied greatly depending on elevation, with reports of over 7 inches in some areas like West Milford, NJ, leading to school closures and delays. ## Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories

A **winter storm warning** remains in effect for Sullivan, Ulster, and Pike counties until Friday.  A **winter weather advisory** is in place for other areas including western Passaic County, northern Westchester County, and Orange, Putnam, and Rockland counties through Friday morning.

## NYC's Rainy Outlook

The immediate NYC area saw significant rainfall, with one to two inches recorded in many locations. Lingering showers and temperatures around 40 degrees are expected through Friday.  A shower could persist into Saturday morning, followed by sunshine and breezy winds. Sunday looks to be the nicer day of the weekend.

**Thanksgiving weather is still uncertain**, but there's a possibility of impactful weather; updates will follow in the coming days.


While much of the tri-state received rain overnight, some residents in New York and New Jersey are waking up to the first accumulating snow of the season.

The premiere was also attended by Gere's *The Agency* co-stars, including Michael Fassbender and Jodie Turner-Smith.  The show, described as a fresh take on the French drama *Le Bureau des Legendes*, is a political thriller centered around a covert CIA agent.

Gere recently spoke about his family's move to Spain on *The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon*, calling this chapter of his life "the top of the top." He emphasized his love for his wife and the joy of his healthy and happy children.  The family will be celebrating Thanksgiving in Madrid this year.

# NYC Blizzard Warning: Parts of Upstate New York Brace for Major Snowfall

Up to 16 inches of snow is predicted to hit parts of New York by Friday. A winter storm warning is in effect for several counties, including Tompkins, Madison, Cortland, Chenango, Otsego, Tioga, Broome, Delaware, Sullivan, Greene, and Ulster.  The National Weather Service has issued warnings, with the heaviest snowfall expected in higher elevations of the Catskills.

## Snow Accumulation Predictions

* **Heavily Affected Areas:** 12-16 inches of snow are predicted in the higher elevations of the counties under the winter storm warning.  6-12 inches are expected on high terrain above 1500 feet. Valleys could see 1-4 inches.
* **Greene and Ulster Counties:** Up to a foot of snow is expected in higher elevations.
* **Winter Weather Advisories:** Several other counties are under winter weather advisories, with snowfall predictions ranging from 1-7 inches depending on location and elevation. These advisories cover areas in the Southern Tier, Western New York, and areas just north of New York City.

## Areas With Lesser Snowfall

Rochester and Buffalo experienced rain instead of snow due to warmer temperatures overnight.
