Storm Timeline
- Saturday: Snow will start falling across the region by midday, continuing into the evening. Then, a changeover to sleet and rain is expected as milder air moves in.
- Sunday: North and west of NYC, sleet and freezing rain will likely persist into Sunday morning, creating hazardous travel conditions. The city and southern areas will see another round of soaking rain in the afternoon. A wintry mix is possible further north and west.
Snowfall Predictions

City Preparations
The New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY) has issued a Winter Operations Advisory, starting Saturday at 12:00 p.m. and lasting until 6:00 a.m. Sunday. They pre-treated roads with brine and will deploy salt spreaders and plows as needed.
Post-Storm Conditions
Following the storm, expect clear skies and much colder temperatures, with highs below freezing for most of the week. Strong winds are also anticipated on Monday. Another potential weather system could arrive later in the week.
