The 2024 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade marched through NYC, bringing its iconic balloons, floats, and marching bands to the streets of Manhattan. Despite some dreary weather and a brief protest interruption, the annual tradition successfully kicked off the holiday season.
Parade Highlights
The parade, which started at 8:30 AM on November 28th, lasted about 3.5 hours. This year featured:
- 22 balloons, including six new characters: Minnie Mouse, Noorah & Elf on the Shelf, Gabby from "Gabby's Dollhouse", Goku, Marshall from "PAW Patrol", and the return of Spider-Man after over a decade.
- 34 floats
- 28 clown crews
- 11 marching bands
- 11 performance groups
- Seven "balloonicles"
- Performances by numerous stars, including Idina Menzel and Jimmy Fallon & The Roots.
- The appearance of the WNBA Champion New York Liberty and their mascot, Ellie the Elephant.
Parade Route & Transportation
