Jamaica, Queens Gets a Stunning New High-Rise

New renderings show a proposed 20-story mixed-use building at 147-27 Archer Avenue in Jamaica, Queens. This impressive structure, designed by IMC Architecture and developed by Meyer Chetrit, will dramatically change the neighborhood's skyline.

Key Features of the 147-27 Archer Avenue Project

• Size and Scope: The 231-foot-tall building will encompass 274,837 square feet, offering 359 rental units (averaging 653 square feet), 23,108 square feet of commercial space, and 17,194 square feet of community facility space.
• Parking: The building will include 219 enclosed parking spaces, utilizing 20-foot ceiling spans and parking stackers for maximum capacity.
• Housing Mix: Importantly, 119 income-restricted units are planned, addressing the need for affordable housing in the area.
• Design: The design features a multi-story podium clad in charcoal-hued stone, a landscaped terrace, and a tower with beige and charcoal stone and double-height windows. The building will culminate in a landscaped roof deck.

Location and Transportation

The building is conveniently located near the E, J, and Z subway lines at the Sutphin Boulevard-Archer Avenue-JFK Airport station, as well as the Jamaica station with access to the Long Island Rail Road and AirTran.
