Peggy Gavan, an animal historian and author, and Dan Rimada, founder of Bodega Cats of New York, have teamed up to create the Cats About Town (CAT) Walking Tours. These tours explore NYC's history through the lens of its feline residents, highlighting pivotal moments where cats played a significant role.

Currently, two tours are available:

  • Brooklyn Heights Tour: A two-mile walk showcasing the area's beauty and historical cat connections. An optional visit to the Brooklyn Cat Cafe is also available.
  • Financial District Tour: A walk through the Financial District, starting at Trinity Church and going towards City Hall Park.
A Lower East Side tour will be added soon.

A Purrfectly Unique Experience

Gavan emphasizes making history fun, avoiding overwhelming details while presenting interesting facts. The tours are designed for like-minded cat lovers, creating a special atmosphere where participants can share their own cat stories. While cat sightings are rare, a free ticket is offered to anyone who spots a cat on the tour!

Tours are currently finished for the season, but they will be back in March or April. Gift certificates are available for future tours.
