NYC School Delays and Closings Due to Incoming Ice Storm

Several school districts in New York and New Jersey have announced delays for Thursday, February 2nd, due to a winter storm bringing snow, sleet, and ice. Areas expected to be particularly impacted include inland regions where roads are predicted to be slushy and icy during the morning commute. Many schools and businesses in Connecticut have also announced closures.

Tri-State Area Impact: A winter weather advisory is in effect for most of the tri-state area (excluding eastern Suffolk County and the immediate Jersey Shore coast). While ice accumulation will likely be less than a tenth of an inch, even a light glaze can significantly impact travel.

Snow Accumulation: Expect around 1 to 2 inches of snow accumulation across much of New Jersey and the Hudson Valley.

Check for Closings and Delays: For a complete list of school delays and closings in the tri-state area, please visit the official school closings website.
