NYC Mayoral Candidates Unleash Fiery Attacks on Trump

At a forum led by Rev. Al Sharpton, NYC mayoral candidates, including frontrunner Andrew Cuomo, launched scathing attacks against President Trump, labeling him an "existential threat" to the city. Trump's withdrawal of nearly $200 million in funding fueled the candidates' outrage.

Cuomo, while calling Trump an existential threat, also expressed uncertainty about serving a full term if elected, stating, "Short of death, I commit."

Adrienne Adams, City Council Speaker, and Jessica Ramos, state Senator, both drew enthusiastic support with their strong condemnations of Trump. Adams criticized Mayor Eric Adams for being too lenient towards the former president. Ramos famously declared, "I’m ready to bring a gun to a gun fight."

Zohran Mamdani, a left-wing candidate, emphasized his unwavering support for New Yorkers, stating, "I’m not willing to give up a single New Yorker." However, he expressed willingness to collaborate with Trump on lowering grocery prices.

Mayor Eric Adams, running for re-election as an independent, pledged to confront any White House detrimental to the city. He also criticized President Biden's border policies and their impact on NYC's migrant crisis.

The Trump administration's actions, including reclaiming $80 million in FEMA funding and $100 million in unspent COVID-19 funds, as well as its attempt to overturn congestion pricing, further fueled the candidates' anger.

Trump himself, while en route to Miami, stated he hadn't considered endorsing anyone in the race, but mentioned having a good relationship with Cuomo in the past.
