The iconic Times Square New Year's Eve Ball, a symbol of New Year's celebrations for over a century, will make its final descent on Wednesday, January 15, at 3 p.m. This marks the end of an era for this beloved tradition, which has marked the start of each New Year since 1907.

This current ball, the eighth in the lineage, has graced Times Square since 2008. But don't worry, it won't vanish entirely! The retired ball, along with its predecessors, will be preserved and exhibited at One Times Square, making its debut in the fall of 2025 through a new immersive history experience called Times Travel.
